Gratitude - Necklace

Red agate: symbolizes passion, vitality, and emotional balance. Clear quartz: known as the "Master Healer," amplifies energy and intentions, promoting clarity, spiritual growth, and purification. Together they balance and strengthen intentions—grounding passion (red agate) while clarifying and amplifying purpose (clear quartz).

The other components of this piece are green, yellow, and brown Italian glass, translucent brown pony-bead fillers, brown and white cylindrical yak bone beads from Africa, heishi-style coconut-shell beads flanking a double-sided bead made of carved or pressed resin faces from the mid-20th century. This necklace measures 25 inches and is finished with a simple, brass lobster-claw clasp.

 The "faces bead" has a different face on each side, and the strand's rocky, irregular design signifies our life's journey. This piece represents the balance of duality: In Tibetan Buddhism, yak bone beads (often in malas) represent the impermanence of life (anicca), helping practitioners meditate on death, the fragility of existence, and the need to live with compassion and purpose.
